It is impossible to break traction on a rental Yaris, even with TC off
![]() 08/26/2013 at 19:26 |

Try it in the wet yet?
![]() 08/26/2013 at 19:27 |

Did you try revving it to the redline and dropping the clutch/neutral-dropping?

1. fishtail it at 70mph
2. hard turn and handbrake it.
I mean, assuming you can get it to 70mph. That might be impossible too.

Me: Thinks "But I can easily break traction in my mom's Yaris. Remembers "Oh, yeah, people (especially rental agencies) actually buy small cars with automatics".

I would but slushbox. And I didn't get the insurance.

Nuetral dropping - Revving the nuts in neutral and then slamming it into Drive. Hard on the trans, but gets the jot done.
![]() 08/26/2013 at 19:31 |

You should still be able to neutral drop it.

Slowest fastest car I've ever driven.

For some reason, I can't see images in replies today. It's just empty for me.

Obviously your hand brake turn needs work then...

Well, just like one drink ain't gonna kill ya , neutral-dropping it once (or twice) probably won't blow the trans... Probably.

Well, front wheel traction.
![]() 08/26/2013 at 19:37 |

I used to do it all the time in my first car (1986 camry) but that had 115 hp and a 4 speed....you know what...its pretty much the same as a current yaris...do it!

Gotta be careful around here...it's a tough crowd!

Oh, crap. I didn't even post a pic... The Kinja mobile editor just leaves a blank reply sometimes, if you exit without typing anything.
Also, your comment is behind the grey curtain.

Sounds like you need a dose of fine, loose gravel. And freedom, you commie!

The guy said no drag racing or off roading. He never said anything about rallying.

Slushboxed.
MT does the trick.

Gravel roads are still roads!

You obviously rented from the wrong company.
I had a Yaris in St. Maarten a few years ago and it had 4 spare tires mounted on it. It was fantastically slidey.

Rental cars, like many of the finer experiences in life, often require a little lubrication in order to provide maximum pleasure.

If bad things happen, the proper response is to call the rental agency and tell them you put the lever thing into the "D" position and nothing happens. New rental car will be provided. Not that I did that kind of thing when I was a lot younger...

Fuck, mate... I can't even sit right in one. Last time I was given one, I couldn't get the seat far back enough to keep my knees from resting on the dashboard. It was very uncomfortable, and hard to drive like that.
