After a 5:30am wake-up this morning, I attended the first annual DC Cars & Coffee Jalopnik meet. Hopefully the first of many local events the Oppo crew can attend together, it was definitely a good morning.
I arrived with kids in tow a few minutes after 7am and found Mr. Patrick George wandering around looking at the morning's turnout, which was pretty solid.
Below are some of the cars that made it out, anything from new Italian super/hyper cars to old American muscle and other random and interesting automobiles. I'm not sure who all showed up, I know I spoke to DC Auto Geek Juan Barnett, Jagvar (sans shoes), Slowmaro, and several other folks. There should be a few cameras with group pictures on them, we'll tag ourselves as they get posted I'm sure.
Picture credit on these is "thedriver" and "thedriver jr" who is 9. Some strange and wonderful angles, most of which are his.
Fisker Karma heading out. Silently. Bankrupty.
My son's BBS pic, great shot.
Another of his, "thedriverbait".
Supercharged BRZ
Patrick George's shoes. Seriously. Think this one was my daughter's.
Bandit bait?
Very loud R8 driving out.
Camaro
Cobra
C3 V ette
LS powered FD RX-7. "Rotorless" was the plate.
Awesome vintage racer.
$kaybait. The only GT was a freakin GTX-1! My favorite car of the show.
Vanquish heading out.

Odd Odd Odd C6-based something or other.
Here it is from behind. Front said "N2A" meaning "No two alike".
And then Richard Hammond arrived in his wooden car.
The really mini Mini Cooper.
Nice clean modified Mustang.
Neat little kart, one of my son's favorites.
Pretty Ferrari, you don't see enough white Ferraris outside of Chris Evan's garage.
DC Auto Geek Juan Barnett's new SRT-8 Grand Cherokee. Badass.
Cobraaaaaa
Charged
Wooden, and sort of crosseyed Morgan. But awesome nevertheless.
Patrick checking out the "N2A"
GTX-1
SLR

Bedroom poster material. The Countach. The one on my wall was red when I was 9.
The non rotary FD again. Note cool plate.
Gated. For..um...her..pleasure.
The newest Jaaaaag. So pretty in person.
Patrick George's loaner, the new ATS. Great looking car, Cadillac did this one right. Look forward to the review.
And finally the car I hope to buy in the not-so-distant-future.
EDIT: per request, some details on the racer:

It was amazing, I saw that there was a GT down the line but seeing the open space over the passenger compartment was surprising. I think I just posted that as the "best special edition" car on Oppo this past week, can't believe I saw one. And you're welcome!

What an amazing event... lost my shit at "Richard Hammond arrived in his wooden car".

I at least recall it was a 1959 cooper f1 car. 5 or 6 top 10 finishes!

A few interesting facts . . . The crazy-looking purple and gold chevy is a mashup of a c5 corvette chassis, a 57 front end, 58 doors and a 59 rear, I think I remember the owner saying. The GT-X1 was driven in by a young man who's father brought a vintage Bentley, which to me was the perfect way to sum up the amazing variety of cars we get at Katie's. And one more for you. . . below is a picture showing what NOT to do when you come to Katie's:

C5? We thought it was a C6, interesting!
I was curious who brought the GTX-1. Amazing car.
And yes, when parking is at such a premium, you do not park your tidy roadster across multiple spaces!

Yes; Richard Hammond, and "gated for her pleasure" LOL.
