One day, you will be mine. And you will be swapped into something. . . don't know what. That is if you aren't attached to an Audi. If you are, you are staying exactly where you are.

The worst is when you get a car with an interesting engine, like, say, a Mazda with a Wankel, and some unimaginative philistine decides to drop an LS2 into it.

Speaking of Audi swap dreams I have an Ur-Quattro inspired dream of swapping in a 600hp APR tuned I5 out of a TT-RS or RS3 into and RS5. It just seems like a glorious idea to me.

It's the automotive equivalent of "put a bird on it".
Put an LS in it!

Why have I never thought of this! It is genius!!

A lot of the character of a car comes from its engine, take that away and it just doesn't feel the same.

I'm not. The world needs more (relatively!) cheap ubiquitous powerplants that run until judgement day.

LOL, U MAD BRO

Yes.

Agreed. I get very bored of seeing just another shell around a Chevy smallblock.
I'm not going to shit all over someone's car for having one, but it's pretty far from what I'd do.
The builds that really impress me are the ones that make the right choice of engine. Sometimes that is an LS or a 2JZ (or a Rover V8 over here), but sometimes that's just the easy option.

EXACTLY. Why the fuck would you want every car to feel like a bloody Corvette?

If you want a car with an LS engine, buy a fucking Chevrolet (or otherwise something that already had one). Leave the cars with interesting engines alone.

I always wanted to do a V8 swap to a 240SX but keep it within the family tree. So how about the V8 from the Titan/Armada? I've seen Formula D 350Z's do the same thing.

I agree. I've thought about dropping a V8 from a Q45 into a 240sx or second generation 300zx.

It is important to keep some balance to the the car. A LS1 may fit under the hood but would it really fir the car? Would it make the car nose heavy? Would the space under the hood be so cramped it would be impossible to change the plugs?
The LS1 makes a lot of sense in may applications, but it is hardly a *one size fits all* engine. Would you drop one in a BMW 2002? No! A BMW M52B20 would be a better choice. The Nissan KA24E would be better in a Datsun 510 too.
