"Since August 2012, a giant sinkhole belching oil and gas has been growing in Assumption Parish, Louisiana. Over 350 people have since been ordered to leave their homes. On August 21 2013, a further collapse at the edge of the hole caused a clump of trees to vanish in seconds."

How do you even begin to fix something like this?

In the video it says they're attempting to stabilize the collapse of the cavern. I didn't mean they could put everything back the way it was, but there's some kind of engineering steps that you can take, clearly.
I'm just wondering what it is they actually do in this kind of a situation. Is that what those hose lines are? Are they jamming sand down into the void or something?

those look like oil containment booms . yeah , those companies like to make people think they are trying , but it's a salt dome... almost all it can do is dissolve and collapse .

it will stabilize...once all the salt dissolves.

at Lake Peigneur , a drilling rig punctured a salt mine .

It will continue to expand until it reaches a point that is equal to the size of the salt mine. There has been other examples of that in Louisiana. Detroit sits on a massive salt mine as well.

When I was little, broccoli was "little trees" to me...and I would delight in chomping them thinking I was a giant.
I feel small now.

All of this could have been avoided if we had simply drilled for the oil. Instead, Mother Earth is vomiting it up violently.
Love the Earth!! Drill more!!
