So back when the lottery was well over 300 million, I bought my ticket, and began dreaming. While sitting in my philosophy class I compiled a list of the cars that I would purchase. I limited it to ten cars, any year, but less then $5 million total. I know with the potential to have over $150 million, $5 million is a drop in the bucket but it made it that much harder. Here is my list. What would you choose?

'73 911 RS lightweight

E30 M3 DTM

F40

959

Lancia Delta II

Ford Escort MKI with Cosworth Engine

2002 Turbo

C63 Estate

Hakosuka GTR

997 RS 4.0

Singer Porsche built to 4.0 spec

My top 5:

1) My 1987 Sentra, beefed up a bit.

Kinja'd!!!

2) 2013 Nissan GT-R Egoist. Diamond stitched leather in a GT-R? Yes please.

Kinja'd!!!

3) Lancia Stratos Stradale, any year.

Kinja'd!!!

4) Ferrari F40. I'd love an '87 to match my Sentra.

Kinja'd!!!

5) Autozam AZ-1 Mazdaspeed. Not exactly like this, but fairly similar.

Kinja'd!!!

I suppose that leaves me with quite a lot of money left over...but I can't think of anything else that I want that I'd actually drive as much as these five.

you need a truck & trailer added to your list, unless that would be considered an appliance at that point

The first thing on my lottery list is to build a race track. Once built, build a compound all the way around said track with houses for all the people I like. Surround compound with very good fences. I will then declare the site a religious institution as we worship racing, thus tax exempt. The final phase is to hire a team of lawyers to fight the IRS on the previous point.

The rest of the money will be used to stock a stable of great cars to use on said track, and secure investments that will keep it operational on interest. All the people I allow into the compound will be allowed to live there for free in exchange for working on the track. All houses will have direct access to the track and every Saturday morning all those living on the site must do at least 1 lap of the track.

1) A fully restored Emma (40k)

2) Lancia Stratos (idk 120,000?)

3) Porsche 917 replica for street use (60,000)

4) Ford GT (or GT40 clone) for daily driving (200,000 ish)

5) A 1955 Chevy belair in red for my Grandfather (30,000)

6) A 1967 Pontiac GTO for my dad (40,000)

7) A singer 911 (300,000)

8) Eagle E-type (500,000)

9) An old F1 chassis with an engine swap and made legal (300,000)

10) An 40 so I can fit in with the rest of you (1mil)

I would use the rest of the money to build a nice house with very long driveway so I can hold my own Goodwood. It would also have a barn with a couple car lifts/a nice shop.

Sticking to your <$5 mill, ten car rule, here's what I came up with:
The Daily Driver, (papaya orange of course)
1) McLaren Mp4-12c $325,000
Runner up: Aston Martin Vantage
The Winter beater/Long distance cruiser
2) S8 $125,00
Why not?
3) 3-wheeler $55,000
Runner up: T-Rex
The Classic Rally car
4) Rs200 $125,000
Runner up: Lancia 037 or Stratos
The Ferrari
5) Ferrari 550 $90,000
Runner up: 348
The Truck/sleeper fun
6) Syclone $20,000
Runner up: Jeep SRT8
The Classic
7) '65 Continental $20,000
The Toy
8)Factory five type 65 coupe $50,000
The Delorean
9) Delorean DMC-12$40,000
The Unicorn
10) Mercedes Gullwing $1,250,000
Runner up: McLaren F1

Total: $1,975,000, kinda light I guess. But I stuck to the ten car limit and <$5mil budget. Of course, if I really had $5mil to spend on cars, I'd be buying a lot more than 10!

I've done this exact thing a few times, actually. Limit of 10, any year, semi-reasonable $ limit.

Off the top of my head, in no particular order:

997 GT3 RS 4.0 or a Singer or a 991 GT3 or a Cayman S with 911-spec power. I can't choose just one Porker, but I don't want a stable full of them. But deffo a Porsche.

Kinja'd!!!

new Jaaaaag XJR

Kinja'd!!!

'15 Sierra Denail 2500HD Duramax (you know they'll make one)

Kinja'd!!!

'67 Pontiac Catalina/Bonneville/Parisienne convertible. Maybe stock, or maybe with a nice N/A LS motor and a 6L80/6L90 6-speed flappy paddle slushbox. That'd be neato.

Kinja'd!!!

993 Turbo in Arena Red

Kinja'd!!!

my current dd ('04 Sierra 1500 2WD longbox), in monochrome black, built LS engine, twin turbos, tight road racing suspension, Syclone tribute.

Kinja'd!!!

E36 M3 Lightweight

Kinja'd!!!

my dad's '74 Toyota Hilux, on TE37s with a turbo'ed 3RZ-FE.

Kinja'd!!!

Mk. 1 VW Golf in floridablau built for equal parts show & go

Kinja'd!!!

Koenigsegg Agera R

Kinja'd!!!

I've no clue what that adds up to, but I'm sure it can't be too much. Yeah, I blew half of the budget on the last car, but what's the second-most expensive, the Singer? Half a mil? Pssh.

I love this idea and also did a list around that time.
My list (in no particular order):

1.) A large truck to haul vehicles
2.) BRZ STi (if they ever make it)
3.) E30 M3
4.) Autozam AZ-1
5.) Ford RS200E
6.) Datsun 510
7.) Mitsubushi Evo VIII
8.) Plymouth AAR Cuda circa '72
9.) Peugeot 205 T16
10.) 911 GT3 RS

I would also buy a BRZ engine (FA20) and drop it into my Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (gc8) and turbo it very much because those blocks are incredibly strong

I like that fact that you will make a BRZ STi with or without Subaru.
