Racing equipment being what it was back then, the massive balls of the drivers would often shift during cornering and the resulting weight shift would cause the car to go on two wheels. I believe that phenomenon was the genesis of modern highly-bolstered racing seats and harnesses.

I love 'em. The proportions of cars from like 1910-30 are amazing. Huge cars, no roof, giant wagon wheels.

The Ballad of the Sneak pops into my head at random moments, still.
Who put a Bengal tiger in the kaiser's latrine? It's the Sneak! It's the Sneak!
