I'm in Dallas, TX for the weekend starting yesterday. Today is a dark day, so we're all pretty bored around here. Any ideas of things to do from people who live in/go to/heard of Dallas?

For your trouble, have a Gazoo Racing LFA. Found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

There's a Six Flags in Dallas area. if I had a day to waste it would be there.

There's always the JFK stuff otherwise.

For your evening entertainment you can find a ton of steakhouses downtown Dallas. The Texas Rangers play in Arlington if you're a baseball fan. I'm not sure if they're at home or on the road though.

The Perot Museum is good and within walking distance is the Clyde Warren Park that usually has a pretty good selection of food trucks.

They are home and I am nearly staying in the parking lot of the stadiums. So, we may do that tonight.

Isn't that the one where the lady fell out of the rollercoaster last month?

No idea. If it was it was probably her fault for being too skinny or improperly fastened in.

Which is to say as long as you're smart you're fine.

Actually the reverse. She was a woman of size and the bar didn't click down all the way.

Being in Arlington, you can also head to the Stockyards in Fort Worth. The whole Sundance Square in downtown is a great little area.

Go to Wild Bill's Western Store and try on hats. That's what I did when I was in Dallas. Good times.

Actually if you're over by the stadium six flags is not far away, and is a lot of fun if you like rollercoasters and the like. There is also the Dallas Karting Complex for fast go karts on a roadcourse. There's also a place called Zero Gravity that's supposed to be fun for those that like adrenaline rides. The stockyards in Fort Worth are interesting and actually has a working steam locomotive if you like trains.

This sunday Eagle Canyon Raceway is having a trackday. 150 bucks. I will probably be there. Sadly not in my MSP, but the wife's Dart will get a good thrashing.

Sounds like fun. But, I am leaving Sunday morning and all I have to drive is the rental van. Unless, I "borrow" the LFA in some super secret way and then get it to the next city without anyone knowing. LOL

I'm with him on this. I'm not huge on Fort Worth, but if you're staying in Arlington, Sundance Square is a great place to spend some time. There are actually several incredible (nationally renowned) restaurants in that area, and there's more touristy stuff to do in the downtown Fort Worth area than there is in Dallas.

That said, I'll second whoever mentioned the Perot Museum in downtown Dallas; it's the tits. Also by the Perot is the Dallas Museum of Art (decent, free), the Nasher Sculpture center (solid, if you're into that kind of stuff), the Crow Museum of Asian Art (cool). If you're into bars and shit, McKinney Ave is the trend place to do so in Dallas.

Thanks for the tips. Since we will all be working during the day, bars and cool restaurants seem to be the order for the rest of the week until we make it out to Devil's Bowl Raceway Saturday night.
