Had a service ticket with automatic replay to contacts get updated by one of my techs. The email went to a client who was out of the office. See where this is going?

Auto reply updated the ticket. Which emailed the client. Who auto replied to update the ticket. Which emailed the client...so it was about 20 emails deep before we caught it. There are 4 other people added to the contact list since it was already a high priority issue.

I am just glad it wasn't left over the weekend and we just now found it haha. Needless to say there was about 35 emails sent out before we could actually turn off automatic updates. And their president was copied. Great.

When keeping your clients updated goes wrong. Fuckin mondays.

Holy shit, I love this. I don't know why I hadn't thought of the endless-reflection mirror hallway that auto-replies could make, but now I can't stop thinking about how funny it'd be to set that up.
