I love the end of the cnet article. What they are basically saying is that this guy did the airport a huge favor by showing them how exposed and sensitive their new system is during its testing phase, and then they fined him and put it in anyway hoping for the best.

When you drive someone else's vehicle, especially an employer, they have every right to track not only your location, but your speed and any other characteristics of your driving habits. What an entitled jackass.

$31k is a pretty big fine, but I think I prefer that to a "fix it ticket" or similar that has no teeth.
