Weirdest thing, suddenly my armrest (covering the center storage console) won't close all the way. I close it and it pops back open. It's not even on springs or anything, it's just hinged. Only thing I can think is some hard little debris got in there preventing the hinge from completing it's full range of motion, and the plastics bend enough to let me close it, but the resistance makes it pop back open.
I'll have to take it apart and investigate soon. I keep bumping my elbow on it because it won't stay closed.

the lid on my cupholder wouldn't stay closed, so I replaced its closing mechanism with a rare earth magnet. Now its hard to open.
Side note: attaching rare earth magnet with JB weld (contains actual metal) was awesome to watch!

I'm conflicted, because when it's supposed to move, it's not moving enough. But when it's supposed to stay put, it moves. The wisdom is failing me.

Innate to break this to you, but your car is possessed... Your only recourse is to kill it with fire... Unless it is a highly desirable/rare automobile, in that case give it to me and I'll see that the demon suffers a far worse punishment than the Hell from whence it came.
