"Editor's note: We are aware that there are inaccuracies in this article and we are working to correct them. We apologize for the errors, and would like to thank everyone who left comments drawing them to our attention. This article was partly written from TV material gathered by Christina Macfarlane and Rachel Wood but they were in no way responsible for the inaccuracies that appeared. You can watch their report at the top of the article."
Lol.

Just posted this on the original Jalop thread:
I say the daily press should confine its troubled musings to the eternal issues, like skin blemishes, erectile dysfunction, and world peace. They have my permission to discuss the automobile business, but when they start talking about the automobiles themselves, they quickly get beyond their depth. - David E. Davis, Jr.

LOL! The authors are in no way responsible for the inaccuracies that appeared?!
![]() 08/14/2013 at 13:36 |

So a reporter, whose job it is to gather CORRECT information, is in no way responsible for this incorrect information appearing in the article? CNN did some mental gymnastics to forgive their reporters for that one.

They are in no way responsible for the content? They are the mutherfuckin journalists.....JOURNALISTS!! fact check. Use some common sense and write correctly, not just re-spew data collected from whatever source. If they're not responsible for the information, then their sources are absolutely garbage and they are guilty for using inaccurate source material......wich is very Bad JOURNALISM...

Author (presumably a male? the article isn't clear about who exactly wrote all of that up) not responsible for information gathered about cars by two women.
That should be the title, then re-posted on Jezebel.

I think what they mean is that the piece was credited to the journalists responsible for the on-air, but their slack-ass uncredited interns decided (or were told) it needed padding for print.
Still, loose shit.

They are "working to correct" the inaccuracies? How long does it take to delete the words "grip onto steep angles"?

But F1 cars, with all those wings for driving at high altitudes, must remain grounded to the ground.
Because turbos.
![]() 08/14/2013 at 13:59 |

Totally. The turbo is pretty much single-handedly responsible for Renault's win at the 1981 Mt. Everest Grand Prix. Look at all those steep angles they had to overcome!

Wait, is this still about the steam turbo?

Personally, I was more impressed with Matra's come-from-behind win at the '83 Matterhorn GP. Nobody could have called that one.

Ahh, the sound of a teapot turbo whistling through the mountain air.

Truly, a delight for all senses.

Unfortunately the Marussia car ran out of steam, thus, yet again failing to score a point in the constructors' championship.

I tried pulling the article up last night to show a fellow gearhead, but so far all they've done to correct the "inaccuracies" was to remove the offending belt drive sentence.

No shit. Even a "Hold on, let me call my boyfriend real quick " would have worked wonders.

No Idea, but she's cute yeah?

Indeed. Especially with the choker.

She kinda looks like Lacey Chabert in a way... So let's just pretend it's her :P

Lol. Their boyfriends don't know how turbos work either. Don't kid yourself.
