I sat in an SLS today.

It pulled up to a liquor store I was at with a friend (Getting ice cream, not booze). The guy walked in and I asked him if it was his car. He said "Yeah, you wanna sit in it?"

I said no.

I'm just screwing with you. I sat in the car and he said, "Turn it on."

So I pushed the start button and it rumbled to life with a brilliant burble. He even let me rev it.

I wish I had SR20, but I was so excited I didn't think about it :(. It was black with a black interior. I must also say that it would be tough to DD because it was very hard to get into and the doors were quite heavy. Also, the door sill had a bunch of scuffs on it, so I suspected the owner (who is an awesome car guy, saying, "What is the point of having a car like this if you don't let other people enjoy it!") was on the same page with me.

I know a guy who frequently drives his SLS drop top.

He used to smoke in it, but my grandfather was able to convince him to quit smoking, always scolding him that it's bad for his health. I haven't seen him smoke in his car since last August! :) It's black with a tan top.

I have only seen 2 drop tops, but never a coupe, and I so wish I could sit in one.

Dumb question: what's an SR20? The engine? I just don't see how it fits into that sentence...

Nice! I saw a maybach once at a gas station, the owner was not as nice. He let me and by brother-in-law look around the car but barely even opened the doors for a good look inside. I'd rather sit in an SLS anyway...

SR20 was about a guy who claimed to swap an SR20 engine into some car, but they found out he didn't really. So it's kind of like the oppo equivalent of pics or it didn't happen.

There was a member named SR20 who claimed to have a Lotus Esprit and made up a story that got featured on Jalopnik , but he was then called out for lying about it. He owned up to it, and it's basically become our spin on "Pics or it didn't happen".

He popped back in to say hi some time ago.
