Not sure how I feel about this. Still, if confirmed, it'll make a very interesting 2014 for F1

Why in the WORLD would you lose the opportunity to race at Red Bull?

Baseless rumors stemming from the summer break. No more, no less.

Raikkonen knows he'd be stupid to leave a #1 seat at a top team for a #2 seat at a top team, even if the other team is better that given year. RBR won't let him pass Vettel, Ferrari won't let him pass Alonso. Neither are good for his future. Meanwhile, nobody's going to let Grosjean past him...

He knows Ferrari, he will probably be the #2 to Alonso so there won't be that much pressure, all success will be gravy and he will probably be able to negotiate minimal PR work. Most importantly there will be gelato. All that he can eat.

What do you think the chemistry between Alonso and Vettel might be like?

You mean Kimmi and Vettel? Because I honestly think Kimmi wouldn't give a single shit about any drama Vettel would whip up.

He would be #2 to Vettel at red bull and all success would be gravy. They might force PR work, though, knowing them.

He wants to win a championship or at least be in the mix...he does not want to be bothered with extensive crap both internal and external. The former and the latter are not options at Ferrari at the moment.

I'm not saying his days at Lotus aren't numbered, I'm just saying his options aren't RBR or Ferrari.

With Lotus and Sauber closing on bankruptcy, RBR and Ferrari holding firm #1 drivers and Mclaren and Mercedes having just filled the positions they needed to fill, the heads-up move by Raikkonen is signing with Force India and making them form the team around him.

That, or try to push Button out of the #1 seat at Mclaren...

Agreed. There are a lot of moving parts between team dynamic, financials, competitiveness, and the "gut" feel that I'm sure are playing a part in this.

In fact, a big chunk of his reticence might even be about the engines and which team might adapt quickest to them (being the best in a weird year never hurts).

Time will tell...nothing like the August media blitz to keep things from being accurate, errr, boring.

I think it might happen. Räikkönen was paid by Ferrari to get the fudge out and stay the fudge away from F1.

Alonso is not happy with Ferrari and clearly wants to make a move. And Räikkönen have said it before that he doesn`t have any hard feelings towards Ferrari. So, it might happen. Yeah, people might say that, "How can Vettel and Alonso be in the same team? look what happened when Hamilton and Alonso were in McLaren." Well, truth is that nothing major happened.

I think that mix of Vettel-Webber is/was worse. Webber is surely a man who says what he means.

I think, for 2014:

Red Bull: Vettel and Alonso.

Ferrari: Räikkönen and some-new-guy (Hülkenberg).

McLaren: Button and Perez (with dollar-flavoured-tacos).

Lotus: Grosjean and some new kid (Vergne).

Mercedes: Hamilton and Rosberg.

Force India: di Resta and Sutil.

Sauber: Hope they will be still around in 2014, not sure about the drivers.

Toro Rosso: Same as 2013.

Williams: I think that Bottas will stay, and probably Maldonado also.

Caterham: Pic has a contract. Driver number 2 might be some new guy.

Marussia: Same as 2013
