Throughout their lives, cars often develop weird quirks and traits that make them unlike any other vehicle of their sort. And it's alright, after all cars are "living", mechanical things. Those unique characteristics often constitute the soul of a certain vehicle. Maybe it's a door you have to slam in just the right way, an engine that only you know how to make sing, a gearbox that only works when you use it, or a rattle that you've been trying to pinpoint for years and grown to like.
What about your cars? Do they have any interesting quirks, things that make them truly yours?

I do not have a car, but my bike squeaks everytime I turn. Does that count?

my 2nd car was a ford windstar cargo van (ie, no interior past the front seats, #becauseracevan) every time you went to signal, the windshield wipers would go off.

The window in my driver's door rattles when you close the door with the window down. Sometimes the transmission won't go into first gear unless you declutch and clutch briefly.

That gearbox thing is quite common in manual cars.

How does that work?

My car ('85 bmw e30) has power locks but if you put the key into one of the door locks it tends to get stuck in the lock. We have tried to fix this with graphite dust and various other lubes but no luck.
So whenever I want to lock or unlock my car I have to walk around back and do it from the trunk.
..."do it from the trunk" giggle giggle
But this seriously confuses that crap out of everyone that goes for a ride in my car and I have had to explain it hundreds of times now. At this point the idea of fixing it seems like it would take away some of the cars character.

It's the first car I've driven that actually needs to be declutched before it'll go into gear. I'm used to being able to shift into second and then first to "bump" things into alignment.

Giuliettas often have that problem. It's also common in my dad's old Transit van, but that just has a knackered clutch.

The lock barrel in my driver's side door is screwed to. I almost got the key stuck in the trunk lock once though; that scared the shit out of me.

When you pay off your car the bank removes the liens and the DMV sends them to you.

I guess I am lucky. My trunk barrel is smooth as butter. Nice job finding Bullett BTW!

In my 06 Miata the A/C pump can be quite loud at times. It produces this sort of whooshing/swishing sound (especially prevalent if I turn on the A/C immediately after starting the car). It can be quite loud at times and some passengers wonder what it is.

Well the first title isn't really a title. If you look at the bottom left corner, it says "If a lein holder is listed here, an original of the Lein Release letter from the lein company will be required for processing."
It essentially says the title is useless as proof of ownership without a letter from the bank saying it's been payed off. Then you get a title with no leins recorded on it, which means you actually own the car now.

Mine have no liens. There are no banks involved.
