Also: when did you get that .gif avatar? I like it!

You were driving next to me and didn't say Hi?

This. Infiniti Q45. The noise came in one-second intervals (give or take a few tenths) and was fairly loud, definitely unhealthy.
And I added the gif avatar last night. I wanted to be Frank Grimes through the weekend but my next co-driving article posts today

power steering whine when low on fluid or with air in the lines? If it was driving straight at the time then most likely not that. what conditions was it under? breaking, turning, accelerating etc...?

Edit: sorry. Didn't realize which post you were commenting on. Not power steering whine. More of a "whunk-thunk" pause "whunk thunk" at a steady pace under all conditions, accelerating, braking, turning, idling, etc

if the engine is running normally otherwise look into a clutch assembly on the ac compressor or the fan. also if you can see the rps while listening see if there is a correlating fluctuation. that will tell you what the linkage is to the mechanicals.

It isn't my car, it belongs to someone who came to today's funeral
