Because... damn ...they're retarded.

I've come to the assumption that trying to have a proper discussion with anyone on a Facebook fan page is about as productive as smashing your skull through a brick wall. Everyone is terrible there.

That's exactly why I don't do social media like Facebook or Twitter.

True. I got featured on the FB page once so I read the comments on the link and said "Never again."

Same here. I have come close to creating a FB page a number of times, but I'll always be reminded that there are a million reasons why it would be a complete waste of time.

They're worse: they're facebook users.

Don't mix up twitter and facebook.
Twitter is the tool by which I chat with Parker Kligerman and Shea Holbrook about the mid-2000s ALMS LMP2 class.
Facebook is the tool by which I am sent terrible, terrible memes from people who don't understand what a meme is.
There IS a difference, people.

I leave sarcastic comments sometimes, but I never join any sort of discussion because... well, yeah.

The whole idea of "Differences between FP and Facebook page" could really be a doctoral thesis.

Basically this. My opinions to Twitter have turned around because, despite the fact that there's a load of the same assholes that are on Facebook, you can shut them out much easier as well. Facebook is basically just a "between friends" thing now, other than school groups (which still have their fair share) and the "Simpsons Trivia" group.
