So I log into Jalopnik, see a notification that someone responded to one of my posts, and when I check it out who replied to which of the comments I've made today and find that someone replied to a comment I wrote on January 21... 2011.

Who has time to read through these old comments? I mean, who are these people?

The original blog post was probably shown at the bottom with related posts, or inside a current story as a featured post. Then they fell down the rabbit hole of clicking links and reading articles.

Chances are it's been linked to by a recent FP article. I commented on the Chevy Spark Millennial marketing article last summer and have gotten a few replies since then, given that the "Millennials only care about their phones 'n' shit" arguments resurface every month.
