Eh...it looks fantastic from a distance, but I don't have the skills to pay the bills up close. It's really hard to get the vinyl on and trimmed perfectly, and in the process I definitely scuffed up the caps a bit. I'm planning on plastidipping the wheels black at some point down the road, when I do that I'll pop off the caps and maybe try a better job. Either that or take it to a pro to get vinyl or paint.
From a distance, looks sweet
Even standoff distance when kickin' tires, I think it looks good
But if you go in for a closer look, blergh.
I did the steering wheel too, it actually turned out pretty well. There's some gold bleed at the edges on close inspection, but nothing I can't live with (or redo later)
So, badges done for now, fog tint to be re-adressed in the near future....and DDMWorks Intake arrives Thursday!

I have no idea what you actually did or what I'm looking for - but if it's any comfort, your wheels look great to me.

Why not plastidip? I think that would get the effect you're looking for, and one can would cover everything you're doing

I figured vinyl would look better for a 'glossier' look. I think on the wheel caps I'll try plastidip when I dip the wheels themselves. The other badges look fine except for a few bubbles that hopefully will shrink themselves out.

Put red vinyl on top of the gold chevy badges. If you can't tell that I did anything, that's the best compliment, thanks!

They sell a glossifier, so get a can of that and a can of red. The glossifier just goes on top of your regular plastidip and acts the same way.

Never heard of a glossifier! Going to look that up ASAP! Because I am planning on plasti-dipping my wheels tomorrow.

I'm saving up my pennies for some of these.

I'll try it. I think it'll be a winter project, I want to paint the brake calipers red too, so I'll get some jackstands, take all the wheels off and do it all at once. The Sonic is short enough that I can fit it with the wheels behind it .

That'll look nice. Yours is red, right? I've considered white wheels for mine, but I think black on black with red accents is the way to go.

Removing the gold from those emblems definitely de-old guy's it.

Orange. I considered black rims, but they're too overdone IMO, and it would have too much Great Pumpkin going on with it. Also, I really like white touring/rally car style rims. Unfortunately its gonna cost me about $3500 to get the rims, tires, and coil overs.

I agree that white would be the way to go on orange.
I think gold would look good on black, but there don't seem to be many options for our bolt pattern.

Exactly, which is why I'm going with the Braids. They're racing rims and from everything I can find they don't have specified bolt patterns, they just order them drilled.
