I don’t think the One-77, Rapide S, or new Vanquish look like proper Aston Martins, nor do I think the DB4 GT Zagato is the best-looking Aston ever produced. I don’t think any Lamborghinis besides the Miura are beautiful. I think the original Zonda looks dated, not timeless, and I can’t stand flip-up headlights. I think they make a car look like a cartoon (nice word play, Henry). I wouldn’t put the 246 Dino on my top 10 best looking Ferraris list. Maybe not even on my top 20. Against all my best intentions, I kind of like the Volvo 240. I also kind of dig the looks of the C4 ‘Vette, but the Stratos always jars me a bit. The only Toyota I like is the 2000GT. Forgive me, Oppo, for I have sinned. I can’t help it, though. I get visceral reactions to certain cars, and sometimes my reactions are abnormal.
I know I’m not the only one, though. Tell me, does anyone else have something embarrassing to confess?

I don't really like miatas. Sure I get that they are relatively cheap lightweight RWD fun cars but the appearance just does nothing for me.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Huh. I agree with all of those, except I don't like the Miura very much, nor the C4. That, and I like a few more Toyotas... The 70's Celica, the last gen Supra...

I'm with you on the Zonda, Dino, flip-up headlights, and the 240. I don't like the new Vanquish, either.

The best Aston-Martin is the DB7 Vantage. Timeless design, Ford parts including the Double Duratec V12, which is the only modern American V12, and the Fordness means reasonable parts availability/cost. A lot of the DB7 is also interchangeable with the first-gen Jaguar XK. I think of the late 90s Taurus as an Aston Martin Lagonda/Rapide, since the Taurus has half of that V12.
Sleepy eyes are cool, and the eyelashes of the Miura are even cooler, but my favorite Lambo is the Espada.
The most awesome Ferrari is the Mondial. I do like the Fiat Dino though (only built to meet the 500-engine minimum for Ferrari's Dino)
Toyota has made some of the best cars ever, including the third-gen Camry. Sadly even Toyota doesn't make them like they used to :(

I don’t think the One-77, Rapide S, or new Vanquish look like proper Aston Martins,
I'd have to agree. They're too aggressive. Aston Martin is all about class, and aggression isn't classy.
nor do I think the DB4 GT Zagato is the best-looking Aston ever produced.
You are right; it is not the DB3
I don’t think any Lamborghinis besides the Miura are beautiful.
Stunning, yes. Beautiful, no.
I think the original Zonda looks dated, not timeless,
It looked dated from the beginning.
and I can’t stand flip-up headlights.
Now you're asking for a ban.

No love for the Lamborghini Islero?

I think the best looking Aston for the last decade has also been the cheapest - not counting the fucking Cygnet, of course. I prefer the looks of the first-gen Multipla to the second-gen.
Oh, and I really want a Murano Cross-cab. I think it's the closest thing to a convertible land-yacht you can buy these days short of a Rolls Royce Phantom DHC, and I'd love to have the kind of lifestyle and money where a Crosscab made sense as one of my cars. I'd like to have a Phantom DHC too, of course, but the kind of places I want to live, it wouldn't handle the roads.

The Zonda's a funny one. It took a long time to get into production - ten years or something - so in some ways it looked dated immediately. Mostly it's just exquisite, though, so it's passing unusually quickly through the slightly gawky stage where it looks dated by association, and moving on to timeless classic design before it's more than about ten years old.
Here's a '99 Zonda, along with a Ferrari 360 and a Porsche 996, both of which were about current. Which looks least dated now?

I don't know if it's embarrassing or not, but I love the post-facelift 3rd generation C10 pickups from Chevrolet (1981-1987). Bone stock, no lifting, no lowering, no hot rodding, just a clean, simple, 2WD long-box truck. That's right, 2-wheel drive long-box. I was never that partial to the step sides, and while a short-box looks sporty, I just like the long-box better.
The two-tone models always looked sharp, whether the earlier version with the broad stripe or the later version with the lower tone ( especially in this combination - my friend had one and man, was I jealous):
Image from Wikipedia
My interest is easy to understand: I grew up riding in, and learned to drive in, a 1981 model, metallic brown with the 250ci straight-six and a 3-speed automatic (maybe it was a four-speed, did they offer them with Overdrive back then?). It was basic, really basic, but that motor was smooth and reliable and surprisingly capable. And the first vehicle I owned was a 1978 with 350 V8 that my uncle gave to me when I applied for college.

Apparently the colour of that truck was called "Dark Chestnut Metallic". I'm working on finding a decent picture...

This is about the only good one out there. It's a stepside, but the colour is just right:

I agree with your point on Lamborghini. And I too like the Volvo 240, something about it I can't put my finger on.
