I think we need a list of Jalopnik/Oppositelock inspired memes/jokes stickied to the front of every single page just so new people and old people with memory loss can check against them to make sure that a commenter is pulling a fast one.

Yeah, but it's FP. Harder to do the Secret Oppo Handshake without someone thinking it's all about the Masons.
It seems to me that FP is having a huge amount of Jez influence...with the ability to take jokes and such.

The BRZ/FR-S was an almost every day discussion for a long time prior to the release of the car. A number of people talked about the Mustang as an affordable alternative. The big thing about the BRZ was the price and performance. Many people argue such a car that offers performance at a good price already exists... it became a long running joke.
Would you like a white prius or a green one? All the blue ones are out already today.

Extremely long-term Jalopnik tradition: express all cars' prices as units of V-6 Mustangs, because as a standard unit of fun and cheapness, it's hard to beat for new cars. That, however, is less relevant than the fun of continuing to describe things in V-6 Mustang Barter Units regardless of applicability. Whoever started it tried to use it to put another car in perspective (i.e. "is it really twice as fun as a V-6 Mustang") but it snowballed.
