What sort of Jeep are you driving? YJ?

A YJ with some crummy aftermarket mirrors after the OEM ones snapped off.

See those two purple lights there? Those are invisible. For whatever reason cheap digital cameras can visualize the infrared light from a television remote. Grab your phone, open up the camera, and point it at a remote and press some buttons!

Ah. I was guessing something along those lines — the aftermarket mirrors looked like they'd work on a YJ and nothing else, really.

Nice article you linked to, by the way. I'm a TJ owner. I haven't experienced the engine-will-break or transmission-will-break noises yet, but I own only a few pairs of pants which don't have missing belt loops.
