DTM Qualifying ended after Q3 because Putin was flying overhead, and the airspace above Moscow Raceway became a no-fly zone for two hours. DTM Qualifying usually culminates in a top 4 shootout, but since the medical helicopter could not take off in case of emergency, officials ended qualifying after Q3 and declared Mike Rockenfeller, fastest in Q3, the polesitter.
