Full disclosure: I am in the Collision Industry. This is possibly the largest industry you’ve never heard of. Billions of dollars change hands each year, and it’s not all about body shops and insurance premiums. OEM, aftermarket and recycled parts providers are a big piece of the pie, as are refinish materials and tools. My corner of the industry provides the software tools needed by both major players, the shops and the carriers, to manage claims, estimate damage repair costs and ensure that everything runs smoothly

This week we all witnessed the revelation of a brand new vehicle, no forget that, a brand new type of vehicle! No matter where you were or what you were doing, it was almost impossible to avoid. It was on Youface, Twatter, G-, you name it! They had Norbert Reithofer do his best Steve Jobs impersonation (minus the black turtleneck). They had big stages in NY, London, and Beijing, acting like it was the Eurovision Song Contest (If you happen to not know what that is, google it! It's almost as important as the soccer world cup, well almost.). "Hello London, good evening Beijing!"

This turn on Columbia Parkway U.S. 50 West is known to locals as dead-man’s turn. It is a decently sharp right-hander that has claimed countless numbers of cars, but why? First, a basic overview of the road. The speed limit here is 45 mph, with a suggested speed of 35. There are 2 lanes with a barricade on the left and a retaining wall on the right with no shoulders.

In a recent episode of Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson pronounced the world’s fastest car to be a rental car. While I myself have never done anything even slightly close to what he did to that Toyota, I have noticed that rental cars happen to get treated with a little less care than one’s own cars. I’d like to share my best (which also happens to be my most horrific) rental car story, and see what you guys have to share in return.

Test driving cars isn't really anything new at auto shows, but building a test track inside the venue adds a dynamic at the upcoming IAA Auto Show in Frankfurt this September not experienced by too many auto show goers any where in the world. BMW is building this nearly 300 meter track and will allow not only the Press, but show visitors to drive its cars.

Everyone knows that the E46 M3 is the greatest of all M3s. There will be no more discussion on that topic. What if I told you that moderate-high mile examples are drifting down into the $12Ks? In fact, a patient buyer might pick up one for not much more than $10K. Now, I'm your friend, and I would never tell you that a $12K M car was a bargain. I myself spent around $12K on an M car several years ago. 2 years later, the out-of-pocket was around $25K. Also check out the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .

I think everyone can appreciate a nice rack. That is not a question here. However, what I have recently found myself attracted to is sports/sporty cars with roofracks. For some reason I find roofracks on cars that you wouldn't necessarily think of as utility machines extremely sexy. Porsche 911 Turbo? Nice! Porsche 911 Turbo with roofrack? Raawr!

Ever since Silverstone the BMW's been hesitating up and down the rev-range that developed into a full-on misfire. I replaced the plugs (which were pretty crappy) and cleaned the oil off a couple of them that was left over from the leaky valve-cover gasket. I also replaced the intake boot which was ghetto fixed with leaky electrical tape. That helped, but it didn't fix it completely.

You hear people say it all the time. You read about it virtually every hour on Jalopnik. It's quite important to any car and comes in four flavors. I am talking about the drivetrain layout. Mainly, what wheels get the power from the engine. On a car site, all you hear is "RWD FTW" or 'RWD only".

Before I begin, I just want to say that my criteria for a car like this does not include how *good* the car is. Yes, speed/reliability/design will be considered but sometimes a good story or a weird tech or just something special about the car can make it worth remembering. Obviously if the car was absolutely stellar and well thought out and came out at the right time then everyone would know about it and they'd be collector's items. I'm looking for cars that aren't there......yet. With that said, let's get on to the car in the title!

Enthusiasts dedicate a lot of their time to perusing the internet, looking for material goods that will guide them on their quest to eternal happiness. Someone who loves clothes will trawl the pages of Mr. Porter or Net-a-Porter, someone who loves art will peruse the Sotheby’s or Christie’s online catalogue, and for those of us who love cars, we are happiest combing through eBay Motors, Bring a Trailer, or Craigslist to find the hidden gems.

I went to Italy last month for work so my wife flew over and we took our delayed honeymoon. That isn't important though, what is important is that we visited the Ferrari and Ducati Museums and Factories while in Bologna. Tried to go to the Lamborghini museum too, but they were closed on the weekend. Be sure to check out the follow-up posts as well.

The first thing you probably think of when you hear the words "Ford Mustang" is a sleek, elegant and powerful V8 muscle car. But what about a V6 Mustang Convertible? Does it live up to the name "Mustang" or is it just a badge on a semi-powerful car like the Mustang II?

When my dad was a kid, cars were more comfortable, the economy was bulling along, and gas was cheaper than milk. With the help of Ike’s new interstate system, the Greatest Generation shoveled their families into their big sedans and wagons and forged the great American road trip. America was experienced through the skylights of an Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser.

A cold hard fact is that one day you and I are going die. It's the great equalizer...and a major obstacle in the quest for the "dream garage." I'll likely never see interstellar travel or practical flying cars, and even worse, I will never own/drive every car worth driving and experiencing.

As always, If I've missed something and you would like me to include it, let me know.

The Ferrari Museum piece and the Drive Across America were truly exceptional. Bravo! The others are great too, but those too had my eyeballs glued to them.
