Gotta get out and see that... still haven't had a chance. Seems like it'll be another Transformers-esque go to watch the giant robots fight, give no f's about the plotline or story...
I liked how the Transformers 3 reviews criticized the lack of character development between the humans...
When all you really want to see... other than the supermodel chick... was giant car/robot destruction.

Its a lot better compared to Transformers.
Theres no real pandering, no true explanation, at least ones that make sense. Its "our nukes weren't working well, so we made monsters. One pilot almost died controlling it, so we used two. Moving on" kind of thing.
Its actually a rather smart movie because it cuts off a fair chunk of random crap, hell the first hour of it could be a movie all on its own.
