And I live in Georgia, so you know. It's quite a lot of distance. However, she's my most bestest friend ever and I just now learned that she has a car of her own that is sitting in a field being unused. Now I am far more tempted to plan a cross-country visit sometime. And as I am typing this, I learned that it's an "old Firebird."
I think that seals the deal. I am flying up there as soon as possible and we are going to get that car running and then we will get married (me and the Firebird, not me and my friend).

DO IT.

Yes, come visit our beautiful albeit chilly and damp state. Where in Washington?

I've driven to DC and Vegas and back, highly recommend cross-country road trips. Especially ones with free Firebirds at the other end.

marry them both and take them both home with you.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I haven't had a reason to know, so I guess it never came up.

Well, now ya do!

I doubt I'd be able to get my hands on it, unless it was a trade with the Escort I'm getting. Which is actually somewhat likely since she doesn't care too much for cars and would probably prefer a newer, more efficient one even if it is just bleh.

Good point! Of course, I'll need to convince her to actually be okay with me coming up there.

Just drive there and back to visit then. We took the southern route, I'd love to head across the northern part of the US on a long road trip.

Come on out. I'll buy you beer and you can sample some of our legal greenery.

If it's "in a field" you're got to need some moss killer.

I need to drive up to WA and back for maximum lulzage.

Yeah, I'd probably take the northern route on my way there and then take the southern route and swing by Vegas on my way back. That's the only other western destination I'm really interested in, unless one of the LA Hot Wheels conventions or Comic Con or whatever is going on at the time. Oh, and Bonneville, maybe.

Took us 2 weeks from DC to Vegas and back so leave plenty of time if you are going to Washington state. We tried to drive less than 12 hours a day and stopped a few times.
Heading over were headed for New Orleans but there was a hurricane, so we veered up through Memphis, Little Rock, OK City, Amarillo, Roswell, Tuscon, Phoenix, and then to Vegas. All very much worth visiting. Coming back (after spending an extra day in Vegas (because Vegas) we went through 4 Corners, CO Springs, Denver and then due East through Kansas (snooze), Lexington KY, and back.
Bonneville was too far North sadly, but I want to go back.

I drove from Vancouver to Ottawa. It was great. I recommend it.

Cool, cool. Only main issue is I'm 19 right now. So, in the eyes of the law, I can go wherever I want and take as long as I want, but I can't get a hotel room because you need to be 21 to use a bed, apparently. So there will be plenty of camping and truck stop showers. In a sense that only makes it a lot more fun, though.

Last time I visited I got a ticket. Mind you, I was driving a flame covered mustang. Not the lowest profile car ever.

That is a really terrible idea. What did you do, speed on I-5 south of Seattle?
I've been driving in Washington for seven years, pulled over once, no tickets.

North of Seattle on the I-5 somewhere. It was pull over a British Columbian day. Seriously, every 3 miles there was a car from BC on the shoulder. I got caught doing 72 in a 60. I thought the limit was 70.
![]() 12/31/2013 at 15:34 |

Ah, one of the places where you can't tell if it's 60 or 70 but feels like 75 is a safe speed? Yeah, I used to hit those when traveling to Bellingham. If you're Canadian, we just have to assume you're a bad driver ;)

racists :p
![]() 12/31/2013 at 15:39 |

Just very observant! :P
Seriously, though, while I'm sure you are a fantastic driver... I got more frustrated with Canadians on I-5 than anyone else... Especially around that outlet mall up there...

Do they go too fast, too slow, or too erratically?
![]() 12/31/2013 at 16:13 |
|
YES.
Mostly, they don't pay attention. Hang out in the left lane at 55mph, no signals, blind to people merging or when merging themselves... Obviously not all of them, but there were quite a few. Not too many of them go too fast, maybe the ones in German SUVs and/or fast luxurious coupes.

We spent a few nights in a futon in the back of a Wrangler Unlimited at truck stop. Word of advice, don't park near the refrigerated trucks, such noise!

So...is she hot?
![]() 01/01/2014 at 02:27 |

I'd say so. I have a feeling many of you would disagree, though, for one pretty significant reason that I'm not going to get into right now.

So to answer your question: Very much on the south side of the state. Some weird place called "Oregon." Yes, apparently years ago when I initially found out where she lived, I stored it in my mind as 'one of those Pacific ones that isn't California' and then picked out the wrong state later on. Oops.
![]() 01/01/2014 at 02:40 |

I'm gonna' just go ahead and picture her as hot then, if that's okay. Firebirds add ten to thirty hot points on my scale.
![]() 01/01/2014 at 03:00 |
|
Heheh, your scale is a good one then!

Ha! Well, Oregon is nice too. I visit Oregon every couple months. Thanks for lumping us all together here on the best coast ;)
![]() 01/01/2014 at 14:05 |

I would make an argument for the East Coast, but we have Florida so I guess you win by default.
![]() 01/01/2014 at 14:10 |
|
Ha! I have been over there (not to Florida since I was little, though) and you have some nice things, but it definitely isn't for me. The sun doesn't set over the water and weird stuff like that.
![]() 01/01/2014 at 14:17 |

Yeah, I think the west coast is more exciting and active while the east coast is more just relaxing (apart from Florida, which is like west coast part 2 in that sense). At least that's my understanding of it, but I'm sure it varies significantly from place to place.
