Ah, below freezing temps. When the gearbox seems filled with molasses, the steering marshmallows, and the struts granite.

See, I thought that was just me. My Cruze did that (when I had it :( ) and it was always maddening for the first 20 minutes or so of rowing. My right arm and left leg were built though!

I park my Grand Cherokee outside since my 135is takes up my 1 garage space in my building. It didn't want to idle when I tried to start it this morning. It would turn over fine, but then die. Eventually I got it to stay on by holding down the gas pedal and letting it warm up for a while.

So I backed out of my space, and then it died again when I tried to shift into D. Started it again and held down the gas, and was able to drive it to work. The idle dropped reaaaaallllly low to like 400 rpm when I would come to a stop, but it didn't die. Once it warmed up some more it was ok. Should be interesting when I try to drive home tonight.

Gotta love WI!

I let the wife park in the garage, hoping my Camry would start today and it did, without issue. Pretty much the only thing the cold didn't affect was the motor. Brakes were hard, clutch was hard and slow to return, throw out bearing was wailing, shifter was as stated above, and every bump crashed through the entire car.

I had a beater '95 Neon that was the best though. Same as the Camry's symptoms, but took it up north one weekend, and the digital thermometer we had bottomed out at -22 degrees, then WENT OFF THE CHART. Car still started the next morning, while my parent's Cavalier did not.

I've never had steering go hard before though. It was weird, like I lost power assist.

Ah yes, the slow returning clutch pedal. When I had my Mazdaspeed 6, I would park it in the garage, but some days would be so cold out that the clutch hydraulics would gloop up anyway.

I have electric steering on my Equinox and at speed (usually highway) it tends to have a sticking sensation when making micro-adjustments. It's weird. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's cold or warm. My Cruze (the automatic one) used to do the same thing.
