I want something that is good for a DD/autocross/track day, great in the dry, drivable in the wet(this isn't as important), long life, if they aren't too loud, that would be nice but I don't really care. I was thinking Hankook RS3s. I have heard good things about them being great for track days and autocross. Michellen Pilot Super Sports is another choice, although they aren't as good in the dry they last very long and are apparently great in the wet. Any other ones?

Back when I had the FR-S, I DD'd on R-S3s . They worked fine for me even in the rain but they have a short lifespan

I don't have experience with others, but I find the Dunlop Direzzas I have to be more than adequate.

I would recommend Direzza's too.

I have PSS's on my S4.
Your blood supply will give out before their grip does. They are excellent tires.

Definitely will check them out.

How long did they last. Or how much thread was left after how many miles?

Definitely leaning towards them. They seem to be the best all around tire.

I've been tracking the AD08s and they've held up well. No street time on them but they are street tires. Maybe another option to consider. I like them better on a dry track (by far) than the Michelin PSS...at least with my heavy car.

I went with the BFG Sport COMP-2s instead because Direzzas, although great for the track, have very poor life and are noisy as hell.

These are the only tires I buy now, Toyo Proxes R888

Falkem rt615's have done well for me.

I've got some Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions on the M3, and I've been really impressed with them. You have to really be trying to break them loose. Definitely worth a serious look. I haven't tried them out in the wet though.
I had Nitto 555s on the e39, which were really good. Not quite as grippy as the Potenzas, but they were fine in the rain.

This is one that I came in here to recommend, also (the Pole Position, not so much the Nitto).

Noise isn't too big of a deal to me, but the life span is. Thanks!

The Direzza Z2s don't last too long, but they grip like a cat about to be thrown in water...
Also, they are light and tend to run wide. I'm getting a set of them plus 14" rpf1s for my Miata in the spring. 5lb weight loss per corner over the stock 14" wheels and tires.
People seem to be liking the BFG Rivals as well. They are too new to know truly how long they last, but they grip like crazy.

Thoughts on tire life?

How many miles do you have on them?

Short.

I haven't used them myself, but have heard a lot of good things about BFG rivals. Its what I've been leaning toward for auto-x in the upcoming season.

On the AD08s? I have no idea. I don't keep a record of track miles. They have 5 days on them so far and have tons of life left. I'm hoping to get another six to ten days out of them.

Just looked it up, and the Star Spec Z2s have a 180 treadwear versus the BFG's 340. So you can expect almost twice as much life, but as a result the BFGs aren't quite as grippy. I still find them very competent though, and they work absolutely excellent in the rain (even better than all-seasons).

+1 for BFG Rivals. They seem to be the best street/track tire out there at the moment. I'd have gotten a set if I hadn't sold my Miata (doh!). If wet weather performance is a big factor for you though, I think the RS3 should do the trick.
In the past I've DD'd Star Spec Z1's, RS2s, Toyo T1Rs, Goodyear GSD3s, and I'd say the Z1s, and RS2s were well worth the relatively low tread life (~15-20k). Plus, the RS3, Z2, and Rivals are probably a bit cheaper than those Pilot Super Sports...

They lasted me about 13k miles, but that is with 2 autocrosses a month plus hill country runs and general ass hattery (sorry about the late response didn't take my PC out of town with me)
