She just got hired before Thanksgiving, and they threw her in there with little training (normal is 4 months, she got a WEEK), she's been busting her ASS working long hours and on her days off, and they just go "Nope, you're not doing well enough".

Asshole boss probably justified it to himself by thinking, 'well I don't want to ruin their holidays by firing them BEFORE Christmas, so I'll just fire them after, I'll just let them use all their disposable income and then fire them, Merry Christmas!'

Yeah, that really sucks. My wife was let go of her job , basically they shorted her hours to next to nothing, after the birth of our daughter. Nothing like working for a Parenting Magazine for several years, then getting the ax due to becoming a parent. Hears hoping the economy picks up this year & she finds better employment.
