Needs more aluminium block. Man I wish I was at GM back in the '90s.

Too lazy to wikipedia it: I always thought the GS was just a vanilla vette in widebody form. This suggests there is a difference in the powerplant. What up?

LT4....330hp. 1 year only.

It was actually underrated by GM because the LS1 corvettes with 350hp were soon to be released. The LT4 actually has 350hp as well

The GS only came in manual and with the LT4 and after a certain year the LT4 became the only engine you could get with a manual transmission C4. The LT4 was released so late in the C4s lifetime that it was even underrated by GM to 330hp instead of 350hp, which was the same horsepower as its successor (LS1 powered Corvette).

OK, underinformed here.... I was thinking C6 Grand Sport. Forgot about the stripey C4. Is that what this is? (Again, underinformed, especially when it comes to the interior of Corvette engine bays.)

Yup 1996 C4 Grand Sport. Best way to tell is the by the clam shell hood (you can see the tire in the top left of the pic) and it doesn't have that twisty looking intake on all the LS engines.
