Vegan-ism and ME: PLOT TWIST UPDATE!!!

I've decided that animal cruelty is not for me. From this day forward, I am going 110% vegan. Like this status if you're going to join me.

UPDATE: So, Oppo, funny story time. There's this one guy on our Baja team who leaves his email, facebook, and just about everything else logged on on every computer he uses in our design lab. For the first thousand times I just politely signed off and went on my merry social networking way. The most recent time, I had enough of it and decided to change his facebook status to a statement that you may find familiar at this point.

Well, fast forward to today, apparently I neglected to log off of Jalopnik the last time I used it, and here we are. Well played, Daniel, well played.

So, Oppo, I must say I am touched at the support you gave me in my life change, but it didn't last long for me. I sampled from at least five different species today, and I'm glad Taco Bell is open 24 hours because I'm feeling a bit peckish . . .

Tried it once.

I can't do it.

Dated a vegan once, took her on dates to KFC. For some reason that relationship didn't last.

I shall have to up my meat intake to fill the void. I do eat cage-free eggs but only because my grandparents' farm is about 30 minutes away and they have chickens, which make a tasty snack in their own right at the end of the year.

In all honesty, though, I'm glad you've found a lifestyle that suits you and makes you feel good about yourself.

Good wishes on this. I wish I could do it.

For work I visit poultry and pretty much every other kind of food manufacturing/process plant. And if I liked vegetables better, I'd be a vegetarian..

I was being funny in taking her to KFC and shit.

She didn't think it was funny.

Now I ask a girl (not that I have to since I got engaged) whether she is a vegetarian or not.

I like the idea, my body can't handle the process. Humans evolved to eat meat, we can live without it, but not without some ill effects on some people

I've eaten enough vegan food (my girlfriend is 95% vegan, she doesn't eat meat, but does eat eggs and dairy that doesn't involve an animal dying, so milk and some cheeses) to know that if it came to it, and I absolutely had to, I could do it.

Nutritional yeast is awesome stuff.

As long as you promise not to be one of those sanctimonious ass hats that feels the need to validate their life choice by lecturing everyone around them about the evils of eating meat. ESPECIALLY if one of those people is trying to eat a $50 dry aged T-bone steak at the time (it was delicious and said said vegan cousin got told to 'fuck off' which caused quite the family row).

Good luck and I hope everything works out. Watch out for beer battered fries as they sometimes contain egg. Also true Caesar salad dressing is made from fish so you'll need to be careful about what you think is vegan friendly.
