Excuse me, I'm looking for a missing "L". Every other model overview on MBUSA includes the full model letters. CL, SLS, SLK, etc. But not the ML. It's just M-class, and for some reason not ML-class.

So it's M-class here in the us because they want buyers to know that it's as manly as a luxo crossover can get with it's huge cock, but it doesn't actually love cock itself. 'Muricans are still uneasy about the combination of manliness and love-of-cock.
In Europe and elsewhere, they've totally gotten over it, so ML is just fine there.

My guess is that the other models need to use the full name to prevent confusion, i.e. CL vs C or GL vs G. The ML doesn't have that issue so it can just be the M Class.

That's always bothered me. How does the "M-Class" become an "ML350"? Where does that L come from and why is it omitted in the first place? Perhaps it has to do with the Infiniti M?

Yes, Mercedes-Benz has been calling it the M-class ever since it came out. I don't really know why such happens, though.
