Why do posts look nothing like the preview of the post?

Images are probably your biggest problem. If an image is less than 640 pixels wide, Kinja will crop them down to 300px and wrap any text you may have put below the image around it, as well as any following text if the first following paragraph isn't long enough.

This will really mess with your posts. You have to be prepared to edit if/when this happens. Either use images large enough not to be cropped, have enough text to wrap around the images and separate them sufficiently or start using some html to get your spacing sorted.

Yeah, the image was like 900 px wide. "Normal" size. It wasn't the image that was the big problem, it was the text formatting. Preview showed the intent, and the resultant post was so shitworthy that I deleted it.

Rage deletes aren't very helpful! Next time you have that happen, save the post as private and send to me . I'd be happy to take a look and work with you to figure out exactly what went wrong.
