...And I've finally made it up my driveway. Fuck you, Pirelli.

having grown up on a hill and where it often snowed, why didn't you just park it at the bottom and move on with your life? you have to drive it back down again tomorrow right?

I've found the problem. The black hole is so dense it's gravity must be affecting your ability to get up the driveway.

Dontcha just love snow?

I'll just leave this here.

what is this?
![]() 12/17/2013 at 16:06 |

There's nowhere to park at the bottom (ditches and hills and snowdrifts and shit), plus I don't drive every day right now.

could you dig out a car length of your driveway and park in that rather than the whole driveway? (not that I would want to leave my car at the bottom of my driveway either)

All season tires? Summer tires? Those are never up to the task of anything like this.

Pirelli
Welp! There's your problem!

3 bags 120lbs of salt in the stang and screw you Ecsta 4x Ultra High Performance All season tires!!!!!

How I drive a RWD piece in winter.

It's not this Pirelli, is it? Because if it isn't, then don't hate on the manufacturer, hate on the guy who drives in proper snow without winter rubber.
( discl: i know winter tires are not the be-all-end-all when it comes to rubbery choices, but in the conditions you pictured, they are the only acceptable answer .)

No, they're P-Zero Neros. Thing is, my brother has Michelin Destinys (or something like that) on his Beetle and they're wonderful in the snow. But Pirellis? NOPE.

Nope, there's 4 of us living here, so not really an option :p

Pirelli P Zero Nero All Seasons. The Michelin Destinys on my brother's Beetle never so much as slip coming up the driveway, so I'm going to continue blaming Pirelli for this one :p

Address, I don't want any of you motherfuckers hunting me down!

The P Zero Nero is Pirelli’s Max Performance Summer tire
There's your problem! They're summer tires and are not meant at all for cold or snow. Get proper winter tires; it will change your life!
Source: I drove my FR-S through 5" of Michigan snow this past weekend on the stock Michelin summer tires! It was terrible. Blizzaks are in the mail.

Shit, forgot to tack "All Season" on to the end :p I'm definitely not trying to winter Summer tires, although it sure as hell feels like it.

I'm not sure there is such thing as an all season P Zero Nero. They are Pirellis' performance summer rubber, as far as i'm aware. And yes, they suck pretty badly even in cold weather, let alone snow.
Michelin Destiny is an all season tyre. Though it's probably worse in the snow, as a proper Alpin would be, but they should be still much better, than an outright summer tyre.

If you've got a long winter ahead, then get a set of dedicated snows. They're the greatest thing for winter driving ever.

These? Looks like they're a decent tire, but Tirerack survey tells me they are junk in the snow. I've ran Conti DWS in the past and they do just fine in snow - a tire to consider for your next set (also Ultra High Performance All-season). The Pirellis are probably a bit better for overall grip, but that's what summer tires are for...
