The first is a fiery Italian backed with racing heritage from the BTCC, DTM and other European championships. You can even get it as a Turbo AWD model in the form of the Q4. You can get a Delta Integrale but with less of the sky high insurance costs. You get to live those touring car fantasies, granted you can get it started in the morning. The only gripe? It's front wheel drive
The second is an alternative to the perennial overdog called the BMW E39. It's no race car but it's tough as nails, built for abuse (when it works) and rear wheel drive. The MV6 models are starting to be a bit of a cult car in some circles as well. Downsides? It's bloody heavy. Heavier than an E39. Also, you'll look like a motorway cop. Then again, that might just work in your favor
They both have flaky reliability, shocking resale values and high running costs. So, what would you get?

The thought of a Cadillac Catera police car frightens me. Crooks would always get away. All they'd have to do is go around a corner over 10mph and the suspension would collapse.... and every electronic system would fail at the same time...and it would somehow develop a water leak.

I didn't even know the Omega was RWD. We had a '92 2.4 for quite a while.

No way in hell would i pay money for either of those. I'm sorry, but the worst alfa possible, against that POS just doesn't cut it for me.
I would like to take a moment to channel my inner Clarckson, if i may. And say, that a still better option would be to spend the money on lottery tickets and see if i can win enugh to buy, you know - a car .
