It looks like they made one of each of those "gift guides" for the sites they own, basically shitting on all of their readers. I'm sure you all saw the Jalopnik one, but I was browsing lifehacker and saw that theirs included this:
I think we all know the answer (the last one). Lifehacker readers tend to be highly motivated, organized, peppy, well-groomed, business-minded, and possess a "can-do" attitude about finding, identifying, and implementing the most efficient possible way to make coffee. They bear little resemblance to the cranky alcoholics that constitute the majority of Gawker Media readers and writers. If someone close to you is a Lifehacker reader, be grateful. Yes, the spreadsheets they email you daily outlining a faster driving route to work can get tedious. But it could be worse. They could be reading Deadspin. (And drunk) (Needless to say).
Are they trying to start a war? If so, I think all the sites should team up and mutiny against gawker. They share an office, don't they? This should be easy. The resulting articles would also get tons of hits.

In their defense the stupidest comment on record that I have made was,"I was starting to think I was the only heavy drinker around here."

Gawker article writing tips :
1) When nothing comes to mind, raid reddit.
2) When in doubt, insult either :
a) The blog's readership.
b) Another Gawker blog's readership.
3) All article titles must be inflammatory and/or misleading.
4) Page clicks = profit.
5) Angry replies = more page clicks = more profit.

I can deal with the shitting, name calling, and idiocy. In an ideal world, that would just make it a bad article and no one would really care.
What I can't understand are the comments that the author makes, as if he expects other people to join in with the defaming. That's like walking into the business next to yours, and throwing a rock at one of the customers, and then picking up a pile of rocks and chucking then left and right under the excuse "Well, everyone else was doing it."
