Those things actually have some serious balls, dat torque.... It'll toss you in the back of the seat no problem.

Oh yeah, especially if you have a working transmission!

Definitely a fixer-upper, but who's looking to fix up a 2001 X5?

not I, unless it was a stick. If it was a 6cyl with the standard tranny I would take it in that shape and spend some money. Fun at least

Could probably sell the seats alone for that much. Buy it and part it out

It's like one of those horrible "faces of meth" comparisons.

Before meth:

Kinja'd!!!

After meth:

Kinja'd!!!

As an alpine white e70 owner, that's painful to look at.

Yeah I'd be tempted to make an expedition vehicle out of something like that... (I'm tempted with my wife's 6spd 3.0i X3 but it's in too nice of shape at the moment, I'll wait til we grenade the first motor).

I wonder if anyone's swapped a manual into one? Anybody know how bolt patterns, bell houstins, tail shaft diameters, etc measure out? if the transmission's dead anyway this might be an ideal platform to try it on.
