I'm trying to make a live paint group semi-transparent, but when I change the opacity, it changes the entire drawing. With the amount of photoshop geniuses here, I'm guessing someone knows how...

there are several ways, but how about just putting your group on a seperate layer and changing the opacity of that? i think that's the lazy way, hehe.

This is what I usually do. Layers are made for opacity changes.

Target the layer in the layers palette and click the little circle on the right to change the transparency of the layer.

How do I make a live paint group on a different layer though?

Open the layer overview.
Make a new layer.
Select all of your paintgroup.
On the layer overview, you will se a circle to the right of your active layer. Drag that circle to your new layer.
Done.

Cut out the part you want semi transparent, paste back in place on a different layer.
