Kudos to Bird—He sent me a starter for the Seven after mine stopped working in a cloud of sparks (No thanks to the AutoZone moron that shorted it and melted half of the solenoid-to-starter cable).

No kudos to the USPS. Imbeciles. I know, not all of them, but the fact that my mail is semi-frequently delivered to the neighbors, and then things like this... It's annoying to say the least.

I tried to find a clip to post here, but I can't find it... It's from "How The Grinch Stole Christmas", one of the cartoon versions, where the mail was going through the post office and being smashed under a press with a "Fragile" stamp on it. That's how my package came out.

This was sent Monday, via Priority Mail, 2-day. It showed up Saturday. Good thing it wasn't time sensitive, or perishable.

"Hold on, Fred. Back the truck up, you missed a spot."

Thankfully, it's a used starter, so it's mostly cast metal, and not very perishable.

I'll try to get it in the Seven this weekend, so I can continue driving it to work—as long as the snow stays off the roads.

They only hire ex MVD employees.

Just a reminder that you are a hero for DDing a seven.

Building one of those is high up on my list of projects.

Looks like that scene in "Ace Ventura" where he poses as a package deliveryman.

I hate dealing with USPS. Funny, stuff I get FedEx'd and UPS'd never looks like this...

Heh. My wife mentioned the same thing. I don't remember that part... it's been too long.

Let me know when you're ready to start. Where are you located?

Glad you finally got it! Looks like they used the new USPS cannon delivery system...

If it wasn't packed very well, I'm sorry...It looks like I may not have given clear instructions to the coworker that actually took it to the post office for me...

I spend half the year in Flint, half in North Carolina (triad region) and the remainder in Chicago. Moving so much makes building large things.... tricky.

It's fine. It was wrapped in three walmart bags; it's fine from the looks of it. Going to try to clean it up and bolt it up today or tomorrow.

Yeah, but if you need a place to stash a frame, I have room. I'm SE of Cleveland, kinda in between Flint and NC.

That is on my way.....

My plan is to be able to rent a garage with a few people in NC where I can move all my machines to. Make kind of a car-building/repair collective. If I can ever do that, I will make a seven.

A while back a couple Post Office employees came to work trying to convince me to ship things via mail instead of UPS. I managed to keep a straight face. Barely.
