I know. Makes me sad my Grand Marquis is out of commission pending repairs :(

How much do these go for again? I assume they are not quite as dirt cheap as ex police interceptor Crown Vics.

This thing is scary how easily it drifts. Just a dab of throttle and countersteer.

A buddy of mine was visiting for thanksgiving last week and he was making fun of my recent grand marquis purchase. I reach under the dash open my exhaust cutout and enter the next right turn going about 15-20MPH and do a pretty wide drift. Not only did he get thrown around the bench seat because he wasn't expecting it but he also didnt talk shit about my panther for the rest of the holiday.

My dad came across a really nice, clean, unmarked, highway patrol car from SC? FL? ...somewhere around there. For some reason $6k is sticking in my head. That is personally what I would look for.
The civilian models are probably not much more than the CVPI. You get a complete interior with carpet, arm rest, and cloth/leather in front and back compared to the PI's more "rustic" interior. But you lose that police presence that clears traffic for you.

It also helps to have 101/-1 weight distribution.
I missed a turn once after a good Chicago snow storm. So I just crank the wheel and give it some gas and voila! Suddenly facing the right direction again.

I constantly battle the temptation to go for a Police Interceptor. It isn't easy, lol.

I've opened the eyes of a few GM guys after a ride in my 92 Grand Marquis. Not that they were gunna run out and buy one, but they at least saw the fun in it. I am a GM guy myself, but I love the panthers.

haha yeah they're hilariously bad at going around corners in the snow but they never seem to get stuck.

I love mine, but am torn about whether to keep it for the long haul or sell it to get something older 60/70s american steel. I got it for a steel so I would make a tidy sum flipping it.

This is true. Even with all seasons, aka no seasons, I've never gotten stuck. But I have come close. One time, due to the way the street slopes toward the curb for water run off, the car slid sideways from a standstill rather than moving forward. Oh how I miss driving my Grand Marquis.

I would just hang on to it. They are solid and any repairs are generally dirt cheap and easy to do yourself. Mine needs a laundry list of repairs. Someday... maybe come spring. I do like the exhaust bypass you put in.

lol Yup. I let my friend drive it in the snow. He couldn't get it out of the spot I parallel parked in.
"Nonono. Make a right."
"LAY OFF ME MAN I'M FUCKING TRYING! IT JUST WON'T GO!"
I miss mine. I still have it, it just needs a laundry list of repairs. It's funny how they all behave the same and all end up needing the same repairs (we've had 3 in the family, still have 2).
