Block is dropped off at a 'shop for boring and honing. Head's been sent off to a specialist for porting, bigger valves and unleaded valve seats. Once I know whether they need to bore it out I can order a rebuild kit and finally start putting things back together again :) Have a pretty triple-carb Triumph 6, as I've got no pics.

Me too :)
There's a frankly scary amount of cash coming out of my account very shortly, but after that it'll be just a bit of graft until it's done.

just like a girlfriend and having kids lol. Trust me though, it will be worth it at the end buddy. You are doing it right, and that's the important thing here

Agreed :)
I could spend a couple of grand less and have a nose-heavy understeer-machine that jacks in the corners, but with the expenditure I'll get something that's nicely balanced and has a sane rear axle setup.
With a honking great engine for the size :)

damn dude, reading these builds gets me in the mood. I have the resources and know how from my many years turning wrenches but with a home and wedding on the way, the LS3 Volvo 240 estate corner ripper will have to wait lol.

There's only so long you can wait before building a V8 Volvo estate.
I hope your wife understands :)
