Seen four vehicles that got 'er out in the cabbage on my 2 hour drive yesterday. The fun of winter blizzards.

On monday/tuesday I helped a couple old people get unstuck.
First was an old man driving a Cobalt who was stuck at the end of my alley. He just needed a little push.
Second was an old the second was a little old lady in her pt cruiser. She was attempting to get put her floor mats under her wheels for traction. When I tried to push her out, she stomped the gas pedal and became next to useless. I told her to get out of the vehicle to let me try and 15 seconds of me rocking it back and forth got the vehicle going again.

I helped a girl out who got high centered in a Murano yesterday, dug out in front of the wheels and got her to hit the gas while I pushed, she really needed winter tires.

I like to help out where I can, and I saw some great candidates, but I happened to not have my recovery gear, my bumper is too tall to push with and they were stuck in such a way (deep snow, uphill) that pushing would have been pointless. Made me sad.

I have the tow rope and clevis combo in my truck pretty much all the time, haven't needed it yet this year.

FYI, Nebraska, Wyoming, parts of Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa and Illinois look exactly like that, not just the Dakotas themselves.
