On the way home from work just now, I saw a yellow smart car pulling a trailer. The trailer looked big enough to put one ATV on it, but it was currently empty. I didn't think there were hitches even available for a smart car.

That's what I was wondering too. The trailer had working lights too, So they wired it up as well. Don't know why they would go through all of that trouble.

I saw do a 180 and flip on it's roof driving in a straight line just due to a thunderstorm. Even if they found a solid point that wasn't a flimsy piece of aluminum to bolt to, I can't imagine pulling a trailer with something with such a short wheel base that it flips on it's roof on it's own with the first slight rain.
