You may have read yesterday's blog about !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . One element of that is cleanliness.
And the dirtiest place you go when on the road is motorway service station toilets. My god some of these places are awful. How? Why? I don't know. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
But I have decent rant about it here

As soon as I started reading with you saying your son goes with you, I thought "Wonder if he tells his son the same thing I tell my girls anytime I have to take them into a unisex/family bathroom?"
I take my son to the toilet and the last thing I say to him before he heads into the cubicle (he's slightly too small for urinals, and anyway some weirdo always stands next to you, even if it's empty) is "DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!"
Yup, you sure do! I tell them not to touch ANYTHING. Don't bump into the walls, and to use a paper towel to turn off the water and open the door on their way out. Public restrooms are disgusting.

I'd prefer to go to the bathroom in a bush than go in a dirty one.
The service stations on the Ontario 4 series highways are actually fairly clean, and are outfitted with the most recent eco-frendly tech, you don't even need to flush the urinals.

North Carolina is mainly known for NASCAR, inbreeding, and "good ol' boy" systemic political corruption, but the one thing we can hold our heads high about is the cleanliness of our Interstate highway rest areas. Which is a good thing because most of the service station restrooms here are fucking atrocious.
