EDIT: Sorry guys, should have added more info. It's a 2010 Golf with 78,000 km on it. I parked for the night, and 10 minutes later one of the other residents said a vehicle was on fire. So it was. I have no idea what would have caused it, but I did see something leaking when I came out to check, so it could be any number of things.

Also I had it into the dealer last week to look at the underbody protector, so they should be very interested in knowing what happened.

EDIT2: Just remembered the only things of value in there: my gas receipts and Oakleys haha. Let's see what it looks like tomorrow

Yeah, mine has caught on fire several times before (once in interior, twice in engine bay) but nothing too bad. Every time it has happened though my heart sinks until the flames are extinguished. I carry a small fire extinguisher in my back seat.

Yes, I could be upset, and I am a little, because it's first car, but really it is a standard, base model Volkswagen that I didn't modify or otherwise customize. The most frustrating part now is that I can't actually get another Golf until the new ones arrive.

I lied! It looks like some local dealers have some used manual Golfs, so it looks like I may be able to get into my same car, with an upgraded trim level. We shall see!
