So I've been doing some holiday shopping and ordered my GF a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! off of the Amazon UK website, rather than US since they have the "best version" due to having different publishers.

I selected the Standard shipping option to ensure Delivery by Dec. 24th (or so the item page said) but today it dawned on me that that probably only refers to UK residents, D'oh! So I decided to contact Amazon UK chat support to see if I can request expedited shipping or if it really would get here by that date. But instead:

Yes it's pretty great when you run into the sort that genuinely wants to be helpful, no matter where. They're a rarity a good deal of the time, but it's worth being nice to every customer service worker just in case...

I'm always nice to them because I know customer service isn't the most glamorous job. It's just surprising because all I asked was a question, if anything I was going to ask them to expedite it if the delivery was questionable at my expense.

Youre lucky . I had a horrible experience on there a few weeks ago. They ran a promotion in October that every CD you bought got you a $1 MP3 credit. I ended up getting 7 CDs over the month (I love music)and was looking forward to $7 since it could buy me another CD. I wait about a month and get nothing. I write them. She tells me that I had the $7 credit, but it went towards a Razor I bought. I told her first no credit shows up, but she insisted that it would just take it off. How does a MP3 credit go towards a razor!? I ended the chat and tried with another person a week later. After arguing for another 30 minutes she said.. "I guess I can issue your account a $7 credit." So rude. It was awful.

Aww man that's terrible! I feel that all CS will be hit or miss depending on the issue. At least you got the credit at the end.

Speaking of credits when I ordered 2 PS+ memberships it said each one would give me a $5 movie credit towards amazon prime and that I would receive an email within 48 hours but I never received it. I'll ask them tomorrow.

Be careful.. They might say it went towards a book or anything else you bought. But they may be able to give it to you. Sometimes people care about the job they do... Other times they seem so miserable .
