Occasionally they put those awful XD Series wheels on a 1500 for the showroom floor and this is the latest. Not my cup of tea to say the least. Also, $40k for that 1500, not yet inluding the wheels and steps.

Kinja'd!!!

I'd much rather have this 2500 that just came in for $46k.

I was so surprised when the chevy dealer from my hometown started putting lifts and bigger tires on new trucks … but I am from redneckville so I guess it makes sense.

I worked for a dealership once that would put SkyJacker suspensions and gaudy chrome wheels on a lot of their floor trucks; Sierras and H2s. This was long before the XD fad came around.

I sold a lot of them, and helped perpetuate this stereotype. Not at all sorry; I made a fucking killing

Level kits are practically demanded by customers when buying a new truck.

Ohh I'm not talking about that, The ones they have been doing look like 4-6" lifts.

Now putting on wheels and a lift doesn't make it a bro truck... Cmon! Minus the rockstar decals, Rockstar Garage kinda makes kick ass trucks! I wouldn't even consider this a bro truck

Look, if you're going to lift a truck 6 inches, you have to put fender flares on it. Otherwise, the truck doesn't look wide enough for how tall it is.

Also, I'm pretty sure that doing lifts yourself is just asking for one of your customers to come back to you after they roll it out in a field and sue your dealership for everything it's worth.

XD Series wheels = bro truck IMO even without the lift.

Just wheels, no lift. Like you said, the lift isn't worth the headache. This is an easy money maker.

They don't make a single wheel design that I think looks good. They all look tacky. That's just my opinion, anyway.

Indeed. We actually don't get many bro diesels here.

Your dealership is smarter than a lot of other dealerships then. I want to face palm every time I see a lifted truck on a car lot. I highly doubt you improved it. You just improved your chances of being sued.

In some areas I'm sure they sell like hotcakes, but even though this is the pickup country part of Long Island, we don't see many lifted trucks.

I was at the Chevy dealership yesterday to check out an SS and they wanted 54 grand for some special edition Silverado 1500. Shit is getting out of control.

But that 2500 isn't a diesel and is therefore a waste. just spend the extra dough and get a Cummins. aslo is it the 5.7 or the "new" Big Gas 6.4l

Eh I'm not really a diesel guy and the Cummins would most likely put it over $50k. I believe it was the 5.7 but I'd have to check. I'd love that exact truck with the 6.4 though. I like the way the short bed looks on the 2500.

Realistically, I'd get a 1500 Quad Cab in Big Horn or Sport trim if I had the money. My buddy/coworker is buying one of the Black Express 1500s and even that is $37k before they took money off it.

Much much better. Definitely more to my tastes.

Speaking of aftermarket wheels, we order the wheels from WheelPros.com and they have one brand named OE Creations that makes really nice factory look wheels. THAT is more my taste than most aftermarket wheels. The American Racing wheels are always really nice too. For the Dart I would love a set of BBSs but they're way out of my price range.

Full size pickups have gotten so expensive on the high end. The base models are quite reasonably priced and offer most of what people used to need from a pickup, but the 4 door 1500s have filled the void that the death of the Panthers and land yachts like that have left. People still like RWD, BOF, and V8s, but now that has to be packaged into a truck with the ability to switch to 4x4. They've become lifted town cars.

More or less. I kind of see the SUVs that way more than the pickups.

Yeah but pickups have that classic 3 box design. SUVs took over for wagons.
