I forgot about the 3rd-gen MR2 for five years, then I saw one for sale, drove it, and bought it.

For some reason when I think Tesla now, I don't think of this one. Saw it in a movie a few weeks ago and couldn't believe I forgot about it.

There are known cars. These are cars that I remember. Then there are forgotten cars that I remember that I have forgotten. Then there are forgotten cars that I forgot that I have forgotten about them.

Remember back before Chrysler went bankrupt, they told everyone they were going to make electric cars? Neither do most people. I present to you the Dodge Circuit.

In the same vein, this EV was utterly forgettable, especially in the looks department.
I guess that's why they're not around anymore.

I think the Coda was a old Mitsubishi platform and body, wasn't it?

It was based on the Lancer and Mirage platform from the '90s. The car that it was based on was in production for a number of years in China as the Hafei Saibao gasoline powered car. A company called Miles Electric Vehicles partnered with Hafei to form Coda and import Saibao rolling chassis to the US. Coda then installed electric motors made by a company in Colorado and batteries they made themselves.
Hafei still sells the gas powered version of the Saibao in China and still advertises an EV version, which is basically a Coda with different badges.
