I can't tell if the tow truck driver disconnected the tow cable or if it broke.....either way-I'm betting his tow truck might have possibly followed the car down the ravine.

I don't know what happened either but I suspect that tow truck if in park with a brake set wouldn't be yanked into the ravine with the mazda 3, just not enough weight.

It looks like the cable slacked when the car rolled back on the wheels and whatever hook he was using let go. Also, by sheer mass, I highly doubt the Mazda would have pulled the truck with it...unless the driver was that much of an idiot and didn't have the brake on, etc.
