Woke up this morning to 3" of snow, figured "I've got a Subaru, I'll wear my 'Röhrl with it' shirt, it'll be a great day". Not 5 minutes later, and I had a tree right between my headlights.

That really sucks. Look on the bright side, though; it could have been much worse. Replacing a bumper, fan, radiator and AC condenser is easier and cheaper than bodywork had you spun out and hit the tree with the side of the car.

I live right against the front range at ~8200 ft. It was hit and miss slush vs ice. There's a road that runs next to a little pond that everyone wipes out at, because it's steep with a sweeping curve. I was by no means the first person to hit the tree that got me.
