At first glance, it would appear that they are simply waiting on installation of a hood scoop. That's already stupid enough, but here's the kicker: If you look closely, you'll see the hole is trimmed with chrome. This is not a mod-in-progress. This is how it's intended to be.

The engine's totally not in danger, brah. It's not like the owner lives somewhere where there's a lot of rain or snow OH WAIT THIS IS COASTAL MASSACHUSETTS!
